Are these neighborhoods?
Looking for a place online in pyeongtaek, pyungtaek, pyongtaek, or however you choose to spell it (even official korean websites have it spelled differently, or are each of those different cities?) anyway, on a rental website and wanted to know, are these different neighborhoods in da 'taek?

Re: Are these neighborhoods?
None of those look familiar to me and from the amount of the rent, I'd say they were in Seoul.

Re: Are these neighborhoods?
No those are not here, those are Seoul area. Also if your looking for an APT near Camp Humphreys, even though your orders may say Pyongtaek, pyongtaek is actually about 8 miles from the Hump. You really want AH-jung-ri (not sure if spelled right).
You can live in Pyongtaek, if you want NO amercian interaction at night or weekends. Like to live around people who do not speak english. Wait till you get here, talk with your friends in your unit (which you should already be doing if you know you are coming here). Then find a nice place, and there are plenty of them around here.

Re: Are these neighborhoods?
No! Six out of seven of these areas are in Seoul, 40 miles away. Maybe all. Pyeongtaek-Kun is a large area, but you are going to have to talk to a Realtor to get the straight talk.
I suggest this probably won't work. You might as well wait until you get here and see for yourself the buildings and the distances. There are hundreds of possibilities. |

Re: Are these neighborhoods?
Korean realty sites suck. They really don't show you very much info, and what they do have tends to be out of date. So it's pretty much a waste of time.
But there are plenty of places available, so you just have to wait until you get here and look around. It's really the only practical way of finding something. |

Re: Are these neighborhoods?
To get an idea of what the apartments here look like go to www.nicerent.com, click on the USFK tab, click on apartments in pyongtaek. That will at least give you an idea of what they look like. Hope that helps.
